Faces of Social Campaign - Major Perilla Bhandari Swartz

Major Perilla Bhandari Swartz is a US Army, Commander, Warrior Transition Unit Fort Sam Houston, Texas, USA.She is the daughter of the former Chief Minister of Sikkim, Shri. Nar Bahadur Bhandari.

She studied in Tashi Namgyal Academy (TNA), Gangtok. Did a brief stint in Mount Hermon School, Darjeeling and got so very homesick that later again ended back in TNA. She completed her high school in Air Force Bal Bharati, New Delhi and graduated from St. Stephens College, Delhi University. She is fiercely proud of the land of her birth, her roots.

Major Perilla Says: I volunteer often. I am now a certified foster parent. There are so many children who need a safe home so I have opened my home to these children. I have been very blessed so just sharing my blessings. Eventually I want to open an orphanage in Sikkim. The children are definitely our future and we need all of us to raise these children.
If you want to lift yourself up, lift up someone else." So when I need a boost I seek out volunteer opportunities. When I help someone it makes my life become more meaningful.
I don’t believe there is anyone here who has made it through life without someone's help. Take every opportunity to be that someone. Be the light. I know that every time I have been the light for someone else it has brightened my own path. Enrich your soul...volunteer.
